We first heard about it after Shawn himself tweeted a teaser video with the hashtag #IlluminateWorldTour (cue everybody screaming internally). If the current sold-out Shawn Mendes World Tour is anything to go by, this next tour will be a hit!

Posted on Shawn’s and iHeartRadio’s Snapchats, tour dates were released for both Europe and North America while the rest of the world waits impatiently for their chance to see their idol perform. Here are five songs that we NEED to hear Shawn sing live.

1. ‘MERCY’

This song is everything. The raw emotion, the raspiness of his voice, the lyrics… everything! Once we hear ‘Mercy’ live, we can die happily.

2. ‘TREAT YOU BETTER’

Obviously, we had to include this one in our top five. The first single off ‘Illuminate’ and we were already sold on how amazing Shawn’s second album would be. Please treat us to some free tickets?

3. ‘THE WEIGHT’

We died when we first heard this song. It’s so beautifully written and the guitar chords just melt us along with his angelic voice. Bless this song.

4. ‘AFTERTASTE’

Dear Shawn, because this song is one of our personal favourites, we would really love you a lot if you sang this for us. Thank you.

5. ‘CRAZY’

We feel as if we’ve all identified with these lyrics somehow. Also Shawn’s voice is so soothing it almost makes us cry. Make us weep, Shawn.
