UPDATE

As expected, Niall played just his one song ‘This Town’ at Jingle Ball Boston. He was also added to the lineup of other Jingle Ball concerts, including New York and Washington D.C. He promised on stage to be back playing more songs in Boston in the near future!

Kiss 108 is the biggest top 40 radio station in Boston, and every summer they have their KISS Concert at the Xfinity Center, and every winter they have their Jingle Ball at the TD Garden. The 2006 Kiss Concert was actually the first concert I ever went to (the poster hung on my wall for years), so it holds an extra special place in my heart. And as an avid listener of Kiss 108, I always keep up with who’s in town for their summer and winter shows.

This morning on the drive to the train, I nearly drove into oncoming traffic when I heard the announcement on the radio that Niall Horan will be making a special guest appearance at the 2016 Kiss 108 Jingle Ball on December 11.

Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes are the true headliners and will probably be playing longer sets—I’m not 100% sure what they mean by “special guest appearance by Niall Horan.” Since he only has his one solo song out so far, ‘This Town‘, I’m assuming that he’ll just be doing a little acoustic performance of that track. Do I wish it were more? Yes. Will I still be there sobbing in the audience? You bet your ass.

As far as we know, this is the first live performance Niall is doing as a solo artist. The Jingle Ball is a series of radio station-related concerts across the country, however, so it’s possible he could be added to more cities’ lineups as they’re announced.

For the Boston show, pre-sale tickets for Capital One cardholders go on sale Thursday, October 13 at 10am EST. Regular tickets then go on sale Monday, October 17 at 12pm EST. You can buy tickets here. Good luck and see you there!
