Ever since I can remember, I have never been a morning person. I’ve always struggled getting up for school, uni and now work. It doesn’t matter how many hours sleep I have or how early I go to bed, I’m always tired.
I’ve been to the doctors to see whether I am anaemic. Blood tests have always come back fine. If you’re anything like me, you’ll totally relate to these things. Only people who hate mornings will understand
1.You get your clothes ready the night before
There’s nothing worse than fumbling around getting an outfit together in the morning, this is valuable sleeping time you’re wasting. I always put out my clothes the night before so I haven’t got to think about it.
2.You prepare your lunch for the following day
Just before I go to bed I make sure I make my lunch for the following day. Preparation is everything. It also means I get more time to sleep – double winner.
3. You snooze your alarm on numerous occasions
I snooze my alarm 3 times on my phone and even have another alarm the other side of my room so I have to get out of bed to switch it off.
4.You swear at your alarm clock
Although I am incapable of stringing a sentence together and normally just grunt at this stage, I am still able to blurt out a swear word or two – aimed at my alarm clock of course.
5.You avoid conversation before 9am
Just because you might be a morning person and want to engage in a full blown conversation doesn’t mean I want to. You’ll be lucky to get a grunt from me before 9am let alone a complete sentence.
6.You need caffeine to function
I’m not one for drinking coffee throughout the day but I need a coffee to start my day. Without my caffeine fix to start the day I wouldn’t even bother coming anywhere near me. I literally give zero fucks and have zero chill in me.
7.You spend most of the day looking forward to bed time
I don’t know about you, but all I can think about is how much I am looking forward for the day to be over so I can get home, put my pjs on and crawl back into the comforts of my own comfy bed.
8. You suddenly peak with energy at around 8pm
I have spent all day yawning, feeling so damn tired. Then all of a sudden I become very energetic and wide awake. Not sure why I couldn’t be like this at the start of the day because this would be far more beneficial, but I guess my body hates me.
9. You’ve considered a job working night shifts
There have been times where I have struggled to get out of bed and wondered whether or not it would be better if I got a job working night shifts instead. My body clock seems to work that way so perhaps it could work out?
10. Weekends are heaven
After working 5 days and waking up early, you cannot wait until the weekend so you can sleep until whenever you want and for however long you like. Weekends are just the best, aren’t they?
